The Red Giants have already registered Francis Forkey Doe and Ramez Dayoub for their Malaysian Super League foreign player quote, but they are granted an additional two slots for the AFC Cup competition.
Having impressed by being the top scorer for Perak last season, Michal Kubala's name was suggested to Irfan Bakti and the Selangor head coach did not hesitate to beef up their squad by securing his signature. Meanwhile, Peter Charappan will fill in the other slot, adding more depth to their defence.
"I have agreed. Kubala is an excellent midfielder with an eye for goals while the defender should also fit into my plans," Irfan told the New Straits Times.
"Kubala and the defender are only registered for the AFC Cup while Forkey and Ramez will play in the M-League. At this point of time, we will not inter-change our foreign signings."
Kubala netted a total of 13 goals for Perak throughout last season, often impressing with his dominating displays in the middle of the park. Selangor have until the 26th of January to finalise their AFC Cup foreign players. Nonetheless, Irfan Bakti is having high hopes for this tournament.
"We hope to make an impression in the tournament. Our target is the quarter-finals," Irfan added.
Irfan Bakti's men have been drawn in Group H, alongside the likes of Tampines Rovers, Vietnam's Saigon Xuan Tanh and India's Kingfisher East Bengals.
