The former Hull City midfielder has been appointed as the captain of T-Team FC, with Peter Butler also hinting at a possibility of George sharing his duties with Marzuki in futureGeorge Boateng has been appointed as the new captain for T-Team FC as they gear up for the upcoming season of Malaysian Super League. The former Dutch international midfielder was signed only a month ago, but is already deemed to be a fitting personality to lead the dressing room of Peter Butler's side.
Marzuki Yusof was also another candidate for the position, having skippered Terengganu FA in the past. However, he is currently nursing an injury, which left Peter Butler with only one choice, which was to appoint Boateng.
"Marzuki hasn't recovered from the injury and could even miss the start of the season. That was why I chose Boateng," Butler told T-Team FC's official website.
"But maybe both men could share their responsibilities in future because I am pretty sure that both men have no issues in leading them team on and off the pitch."
Being tipped as the team to watch, Peter is also confident of his side attracting a bigger crowd to their matches. The Titans have previously struggled to bring in crowd, but their rebranding and the inclusion of famous foreign players mean that things could be different in 2013.
"T-Team used to play in empty stadiums before this. But having seen the passion from fans after the rebranding of our team, I believe that thousands of people will come down to cheer us on in Kuala Terengganu.
"I am sure the fans know that this isn't the T-Team of old. It's a new team and we have signed players like George Boateng and Caleb Folan.
The Titans will travel to Lumut to take on Perak FA in the opening match of the 2013 Malaysian Super League on the 8th of January.
