Only four stadiums would be allowed by the FA of Malaysia to stage night matches next season as the rest did not meet the requirements
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have given green light to only four stadiums to stage night matches in the Malaysian Super League (MSL) next season.
Its’ Local Competition Comittee chairman, Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said the four stadiums that made the cut were Shah Alam Stadium in Selangor; Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan, Pahang; Stadium Negeri Sarawak in Kuching and Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.
All the other stadiums will have to stage afternoon matches.
According to Hamidin, he was informed that Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Seremban and Perak Stadium in Ipoh are currently upgrading their facilities, but as it stands now they are very likely to stage afternoon matches.
Speaking to Bernama, he added: “However, we will continue our inspection over stadiums involved in staging M-League matches, so that those who wish to stage night matches follow the requirements set by the FAM.”
Hamidin, who is also the Vice President of the FAM, said that the committee would hold a meeting over the weekend to discuss the issue in detail.
