The Red Warriors' left-back, Mohammad Abdul Aziz Ismail will go through knee surgery in January and is set to miss half a year of action
Abdul Aziz Ismail, Kelantan's left back is disappointed that he cannot help the Red Warriors next season, due to the injury he picked up during a friendly match against Kedah recently.
This is another setback for the player, who had to miss the whole season last year, after his left knee gave way early in the season.
This time, it is his right knee and he has to undergo surgery on the 2nd of January to get it fixed.
Speaking to Kelate.net, he said that the only time he can probably play next season is during the Malaysia Cup, as the doctor expects him to be out for six or seven months.
“Obviously I am sad and disappointed for having to miss the season again. I want to help the team but luck is against me once again.”
Aziz however, is hopeful that his home state can retain all the three titles they won this year. The 24-year-old is quietly confident of it happening with the addition of new players such as the import player from Australia, Dimitri Petratos.
“I believe the combination of new and old players can create a great team for next season. I will support the team all the way while I’m out.”
