New Negeri Sembilan coach Divaldo Alves is a happy man.
The Portuguese trainer had been left impressed with the high commitment displayed by his two import signings - William Paul Modibo from Cameroon and Argentina's Emanuel Matias De Porras, since they started training about three weeks ago.
Signed in the close season, the duo have shown exemplary attitude both on and off the pitch, leaving Alves feeling confident ahead of the new Malaysian Super League (MSL) season.
“Modibo and De Porras have really been determined in training and the friendly matches held thus far. I am satisfied with their commitment to work hard to achieve the best fitness levels,” said the former Boavista coach to Harian Metro.
“This positive attitude highlights their passion to provide the best for the team.
“I hope they can quickly adapt and be 100 percent ready by the time the league opens next month.”
According to Alves, besides the two foreigners, he has also been monitoring players from every position to ensure that Negeri’s best eleven is identified for next year’s challenge.
“I’m still undecided but we’ll have a better idea once the pre-season is over.
“For now, I want each player to show outstanding performance on the field.”
