The press conference was led by the president of Johor's Football Association (FA), the Royal Crown Prince of Johor: Tunku Ismail and Coach Fandi Ahmad; who were also joined by their new players such as Safee Sali, Safiq Rahim, Norshahrul Idlan, Azmi Muslim, Aidil Zafuan and Zaquan Adha.
This formal announcement was put on hold due to many of the players commitment in the recent AFF Suzuki Cup, and Tunku Ismail was clearly happy with this new line up, together with the Spanish striker, Daniel Guiza and Italian player, Simone Del Nero.
Tunku Ismail explained that they are happy with the team that they have right now. He also said that they are looking at the objective of the team as a whole, rather than looking at the individuals in the team.
"Our objective is to put Johor at the top and to be known throughout the country. This is what Fandi and I have been planning for over the past 12 months, this moment", said Tunku Ismail in the press conference.
He feels that Johor is so fortunate to have such quality players, but reminded the players that this is no honeymoon, saying that each member of the squad will have to work hard, show a good attitude both on and off the field and perform well for the sake the team.
Coach Fandi Ahmad, whose now has plenty of quality options to select from, said that there is no automatic spot for any of his players, no matter how famous they are.
"This is a positive challenge for me, to have a team that every coach dreams of. To me, the players have to have good discipline and good teamwork."
He also added that the players will have to earn their spots. All the players will be given a week of holidays before they start training.
