National team winger Khyril still hopes he can play for the Malayan Tigers in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012, but leaves all the decisions to the coach
Khyril Muhymeen injured his thigh in the match against Laos and due to that injury, he was not selected in the dominant win against Indonesia.
Coach K. Rajagobal opted to choose Wan Zack Haikal instead of Khyril for the match against Laos in the wing position.
Speaking to Sports247.my, Khyril Muhymeen said “I can only keep my hopes up. I feel fit and ready but it is still up to the medical team and the coach to make the decision.
“Wan Zack has been really good so it will be hard for me to regain my spot. But I will let the coach to decide who he wants to pick and I will continue to keep working hard.”
He also said that Kunalan and him are back in action, but was advised not to push themselves too hard.
“These things happened in football and we have to keep doing our best to keep our spirits on high” he added.
It will be the second time for Khyril if he were to be left out from the match against Thailand this Sunday since he was overlooked by Rajagobal in 2010.
