Treble-winning Kelantan have sent out early warning to title rivals with the arrivals of two new foreign signings, as well as three local stars for next season's campaign
Treble champions Kelantan have announced the signing of young Australian star Dimitri Petratos for the upcoming season.
The 20-year-old Australian Under-20 striker, who played for Sydney FC in the A-League last season, will replace the departing Lebanese forward Muhammad Ghaddar.
Petratos was unveiled yesterday in Kota Bharu together with four other new signings; Croatian defender Lek Kchira and the local trio of Zairo Anuar Zailani, Faiz Subri and Haris Safwan Kamal.
Tan Sri Annuar Musa, the advisor of Kelantan Football Association (KAFA), affirmed his belief that Kelantan can defend the three domestic trophies they won this year and aim for continental glory next with the arrival of the new players.
“I am confident that the presence of top class players from abroad and local will help Kelantan to take on strong teams like Johor and ATM next season.
“Petratos played at a high level with Sydney FC and the Australian youth team. For me, he can be a great asset for us when we play in the AFC Cup,” he told reporters at the unveiling ceremony.
Annuar also announced at the same event that Kevin Ramalingam will be appointed as the Chief Excutive Officer of TheRedWarriors.com, KAFA’s official sponsorship arm for 2013.
