The nippy winger has sustained a thigh injury during the national team training session at Wisma FAM this eveningBad news ensued for Malaysian football fans as nippy winger, S.Kunanlan has been declared injured for the crucial upcoming match against rivals, Indonesia. Kunanlan sustained a thigh injury during a late training session today.
The Semenyih born winger has been an integral part of Datuk K.Rajagobal's squad since the revival of the Malayan Tigers in 2008. His blistering pace will sorely be missed by the Rajagobal but in his place he will have a couple of good options on the flank such as Pahang talisman, Azamuddin Akil and forward, Baddrol Bakhtiar.
"Yes we lost a player we sorely need for the battle against Indonesia. But we must have confidence in the player that I chose to replace him," he told Nadi Arena from Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya this evening.
"We have capable replacements such as Alex (Azamuddin), Fakri (Saarani) and Baddrol (Bakhtiar)," he added.
To add to the team's injury woes, Kedah forward, Khyril Muhymeen has also been declared unavailable for the match because of injury.
