The official football bodies of Indonesia and Malaysia released an official statement outlining the importance of the security for both sets of supporters
Realizing the high tension of the Indonesian national team's match against hosts Malaysia at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 final Group B match, Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) has urged all supporters of the 'Merah-Putih' squad present at the Bukit Jalil Stadium on Saturday (1/12), to obey the rules and regulations that exist, and do not provoke any acts or be moved by the provocation of others.
PSSI has also been coordinating and cooperating with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for building security and safety for supporters. This is done to ensure smoothness for the fans trip and both teams to the stadium at the AFF Suzuki Cup event this year.
There have been tension brewing between the Malaysian supporters and Indonesian supporters during Malaysia's 3-0 loss to Singapore on November 25 with bottle throwing incidents which caused the police to intervene and prevent any crowd violence from happening.
