Malaysia's chief deep lying forward, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha, is a possible doubt for the crucial match against Laos this Wednesday night after suffering from a headache.
Norshahrul or Mat Yo as he is affectionately known to his fans, was missing from the team training session today and his strike partner, Safee Sali confirmed that Mat Yo is at the hospital to get medical treatment due to headache suffered.
"He is suffering from a headache and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. I hope that he will recover in time," Safee told Astro Arena.
He went on to add that he is ready to play with any striker who will step into Mat Yo's shoes.
"We have a strong reserve forward line. Baddrol (Bakhtiar) and Hazwan (Bakri) will be able to play upfront and I am ready to play alongside anyone that the coach chooses."
Safee's confidence in the reserve forwards bodes well with easing the anxiety felt by Malaysian football fans after a dismal 3-0 defeat to Singapore in the AFF Suzuki Cup opener two days ago.
