In the wake of a surprisingly lackluster performance by the Malayan Tigers, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has stepped in with a battlecry that they need to rise up and win the remaining AFF Suzuki Cup matches.
"Although yesterday's result did not favour us, we want the Harimau Malaya to rise up again. Malaysia, win your next matches" he said on his Twitter today.
This clear message by the Prime Minister will serve as a much needed tonic for the ailing Malayan Tigers who came up second best in a 3-0 defeat against bitter rivals, Singapore last night.
Malaysia will be up against a plucky Laos side on Wednesday night and will wrap up the group stage with a tricky tie against runners-up Indonesia on December 1.
