The Canaries’ captain and top striker stay on while prodigal son Akmal Rizal Rakhli makes a return to his home state
All the rumours surrounding the future of Khyril Muhymeen Zambri was put to rest yesterday when his name was included in Kedah’s squad list for the upcoming season.
Reports have been circulating that the national player was on the radar of several teams and was set to leave his home club before yesterday’s announcement.
Kedah, who named a list of 22 players for next year also confirmed captain Baddrol Bakhtiar will be staying on with the team for another season.
Kedah FA president, Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak made the announcement to reporters at Wisma Darul Aman in Alor Setar yesterday.
Chilean Nelson Sam Martin, who helped the Canaries to back-to-back trebles in 2007 and 2008 is back with the team as one of its import signing. Also making a return is local boy Akmal Rizal Rakhli.
Croatian Mario Tot will continue as head coach, whereas his assistant Radhi Mat Din and goalkeeping coach Ahmad Sobri Ismail have been replaced by Antonio Siscis and Talib Saidi respectively.
Datuk Jeffrey Low Hang Chow will take over as team manager from Datuk Khazali Din.
