The ex-Lazio star has agreed to join forces with Dani Guiza and form a potent Southern Tigers attack
The Italian wing wizard was revealed at a press conference at Hotel Thistle, Johor Bahru on Friday afternoon.
Speaking to Goal.com at the event, the Italian said: "I am happy to be here. I had other offers from Romania and top Italian clubs but i chose to come here as I have been told of the big plans by the Crown Prince [of Johor]."
"I look forward to playing alongside [Dani] Guiza next season. I believe that my experiences in Europe will be good for the club. I am really moved by the Crown Prince's sincerity."
The newly restructured Johor FA and Johor FC are now under one management overseen by the Crown Prince of Johor, Tunku Ismail Idris.
Del Nero is the second big-name signing after the capture of former Spain international striker Dani Guiza. Johor have also completed the signings of Malaysian internationals, Aidil Zafuan, Zaquan Adha, Safiq Rahim, and Azmi Muslim.
31-year-old Del Nero won the Coppa Italia in 2008 with Lazio. He was on loan at Cesena last season and made a total of 11 appearances scoring two goals.
