Nippy winger, S.Kunanlan, believes the national team will get back on track ahead of the looming AFF Suzuki Cup campaign
"We went through tough times in the Under-23 competition at the SEA Games in Laos (2009) and the Asian Games in Guangzhou (2010). They were good experiences and we returned with positive results. We won the SEA Games gold after a 20-year lapse and made the second round of the Asiad for the first time in 32 years. That same year, we went on to win the AFF Suzuki Cup after losing to hosts Indonesia (5-1) in the opening game," he told The Star.
Kunanlan went onto quash any worries for the national team form as Malaysia, under head coach Datuk K. Rajagopal, have been through worse.
His words will surely go down well with his teammates and coach, Datuk K.Rajagobal, who was recently lambasted by the media and local football fans due to the two defeats suffered against Vietnam and Thailand.
