Young striker Hazwan Bakri has expressed his gratitude for the chance afforded to him by Malaysia supremo Datuk K.Rajagobal, and proclaimed that he will be keen to impress against Hong Kong tonight.
"I admit it is not easy to get a place in the team and I am grateful to have been given the chance once more. I will try and maintain a good performance for the national team and if I am given the chance against Hong Kong, I will give my best." he said to ESPNstar.
He went on to concede that there will be added pressure this time around as Malayan Tigers are the defending AFF Suzuki Cup champions, but verified that he will be ready for the challenge.
"Obviously there's a bit of pressure this time around as we need to retain the Suzuki Cup. For me, I have to fight for a place with the current strikers. However, I am ready to take this challenge and make full use of this chance to prove myself. I hope to be selected for the final squad for the Suzuki Cup."
Hazwan impressed in his debut for the senior team with a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in a 6-0 rout last April.
