Johor set to sign Safiq Rahim

The national midfield maestro confirmed that he would be joining the big spending Southern Tigers
National team skipper, Safiq Rahim has confirmed that he would be playing for Johor next season.

"I have asked Johor for a one year contract with an option for another year because my intention is to join a club from any other Asean country in 2014, if i receive an offer," said Safiq to Bernama earlier today.

Safiq added that his decision to play for the Southern Tigers was aided by the fact that he received blessing from his family and the Football Association of Selangor (FAS).

The Kuala Selangor born lad who is also the recipient of the Best Midfielder 2012 award will join a star-studded Johor team already boasting the likes of twins; Aidil Zafuan and Zaquan Adha, Azmi Muslim and former Spanish international striker, Dani Guiza.
