The treble winners have asked Malaysian international Norshahrul Idlan Talaha to forget about joining Johor and respect his contract with them instead
Norshahrul Idlan Talaha’s hopes of turning out for Johor next season have been dashed by the management of his current team, Kelantan.
The national striker had handed in a written request to the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) to let him join the team from down south for next season, after receiving a better offer from them.
According to the association’s Vice President, Rosmadi Ismail, Norshahrul will be asked to honour the remaining one year on his contract.
“We had a meeting and decided to reject the request because the player still has a year left on his contract with us,” he told Sinar Harian.
Rosmaidi however added that Norshahrul could yet make an appeal against KAFA’s decision.
“Most probably he will plead his case but we’ve yet to receive anything for now. So we will wait and see.”
