Malaysia are drawn in Group D alongside Qatar, Bahrain and Yemen for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers

The Malayan Tigers are set to face an uphill battle after being drawn in Group D with three Middle Eastern nations: Qatar, Bahrain, and Yemen.

The top two teams in the group and the best third placing team will progress to the finals in 2015. The first qualifying match is scheduled to take place on February 6, 2013.

The previous edition of the qualification round was one to forget for Malaysia with three defeats from all three games, scoring two while leaking twelve at the back.

AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011™ champions Japan, hosts and 2011 runners-up Australia, third-placed Korea Republic, AFC Challenge Cup 2012 winners DPR Korea and the champions of the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup will get direct berths in the final competition.

The 2015 AFC Asian Cup Finals will be played in four cities: Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra.
