Harimau Muda suffer defeat at the hands of Home United

A Frederic Mendy double condemned the Harimau Muda to their sixth loss of the season as they fell 3-0 to Home United FC in Singapore’s S-League match yesterday.

The 23-year-old French striker scored in the 37th and 53rd minute before turning provider for Indra Shahdan Daud in injury time to seal the victory for The Protectors at the Yishun Stadium.

It was Harimau Muda’s second defeat to Home United, having lost 2-1 to them earlier in the season.

Although strengthened by the returning Wan Zack Haikal, Mahali Jasuli, Gary Steven Robbat and Mohd Fadhli Shas, the young Malaysians failed to do much to trouble Lee Lim-Saeng’s charges throughout the evening.

With the defeat, Ong Kim Swee’s team dropped to fifth place in the standings.

They will next meet bottom side Woodlands Wellington on September 22.
