National team coach, Datuk K.Rajagobal has named his squad for the upcoming friendly match against Vietnam on the 11th of September. The match is scheduled to kick off at Stadium Shah Alam, Selangor.
The official list was released earlier today by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and it comprised of familiar names such as a team skipper Safiq Rahim, Khairul Fahmi, Safee Sali, Aidil Zafuan and the in-form Farizal Marlias.
However, the squad also includes Young Tigers “A” players such as winger Wan Zack Haikal and the robust Gary Steven Robbat. It is also worth mentioning that Premier League champions Armed Forces have the most number of players in the national set-up with five players. This squad also marks the return to the national team for striker Zaquan Adha after a long hiatus from international football.
Meanwhile, Felda United’s forwards Fakri Saarani, Yong Kuong Yong, Terengganu trio Ashari Samsudin, Muslim Ahmad, Sharbinee Alawee and Kedah midfielder Baddrol Bahtiar have been placed on the standby list.
The friendly match against Vietnam is part of the preparations for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup campaign.
