4000 people turn up to watch ‘The Citizens’ go through their paces

Manchester City supporters brave Ramadan to attend their beloved team’s first public training session on Malaysian soil

4000 Manchester City fans flooded into the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday to catch a glimpse of their favourite club in training.

The session, which was light and focused on positional play, was held under the watchful eyes of their manager Roberto Mancini and the fans were in their element as they treated the Italian to a rendition of his popular ‘Volare’ theme and belted out several other tunes familiar to the City faithful.

The English Premier League Champions star trio, Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure proved to be a hit with the fans, but Mancini and his assistant David Platt received the biggest cheers of the afternoon when they joined the players and strutted their stuff in a six-a-side training match.

The players then capped off their training session by kicking 100 footballs into the excited crowd.
