The final two teams go after the one last remaining MSL spot tomorrow night
Pahang and Kedah will be desperate to outdo each other when they go face to face in the winner-takes-all Malaysian Super League (MSL) play-off final at the Hang Jebat Stadium.
Kedah’s returning former national coach, Wan Jamak Wan Hassan, has a squad with a virtually clean bill of health but he may choose to rotate the players in order to keep them fresh after a draining contest with Sabah yesterday. Kedah will welcome goalkeeper Helmi Eliza Elias back from his two-game suspension while the rested Amar Rohidan is ready to start again. See Kok Luen who came on and created the winning goal last night could also come in from the start.
Pahang meanwhile, are likely to go with the same line-up that served them well against Sarawak in the semi-finals. Coach Dollah Salleh could make some adjustments to ensure all the players who take to the field are as fit as possible. 'The Elephants' are expected to pin their hopes on national winger Azamuddin Akil and Russian midfielder Boris Kochkin, who were both very influential in yesterday’s match, while the defence is set to be marshalled again by Zaiza Zainal Abidin, the son of assistant coach and Malaysian footballing legend Zainal Abidin Hassan.
Whoever wins will get to strut their stuff against the big boys in the MSL next season while the losers will have to make do with another year in the second-tier Premier League.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 8.45p.m.
