Young gun, Rozaimi Abd Rahman will be given every opportunity to prove that he is worth a place in the national AFF Suzuki Cup squad according to coach, Datuk K. Rajagobal.
The Kota Kinabalu born player has drawn widespread praise and has even been labeled as the next Safee Sali for his strong showing in the recent AFC Under-22 qualifiers in Myanmar recently. He topped the scoring charts as the main goal getter of the competition with an amazing tally of ten goals.
His rich goalscoring form has convinced Rajagobal to include him in the national squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Arsenal (July 24) and Manchester City (July 30). Rajagobal was quoted to have said that Rozaimi needs to be tested at the higher level before any decision regarding the young striker’s inclusion in the national AFF Suzuki Cup squad can be made.
The emergence of this young hotshot is a definite boost for our Malayan Tigers with the current forward line already comprising of the talismanic Safee Sali, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha and another up and coming striker, Shakir Ali.
