Malayan Tigers set to face rivals in AFF Suzuki Cup

Our Malayan Tigers were drawn into Group B of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 and will face main rivals, Indonesia and Singapore.
The group stage of the AFF Cup 2012 , Southeast Asia's most-prestigious tournament, has been announced in Bangkok, Thailand. Defending champions and co-hosts, Malaysia was drawn into Group B and will face main rivals, Indonesia and Singapore along with the runner up of the qualifying round.

Co-hosts, Thailand will face Vietnam in what will be a repeat of the 2008 edition final, the recently emerging Philippines and the winner of the other qualifying round.

Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei and Timor Leste will compete in a single round-robin group from October 5-13 in Yangon, Myanmar, with the top two teams qualifying for the final stage.

Malaysia coach Datuk K. Rajagobal, the architect behind Malayan Tigers' victory in 2010, was buoyant about the draw. He was quoted to have said that he is excited about the challenge of playing strong teams such as Indonesia and Singapore.

The group stage of the tournament is scheduled for November 24 and will run until December 1, and will be played at the Rajamangala Stadium in Thailand and Bukit Jalil Stadium in Malaysia.

With our Malayan Tigers set to face against two of our biggest rivals, Indonesia and Singapore, this edition of the AFF Suzuki Cup will surely be an explosive one!

Group A: Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and qualifying group winner

Group B: Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and qualifying group runner-up
