Our Young Tigers secured their second win on the trot with in-form striker Rozaimi scoring a brace.
Our Young Tigers secured their second win on the trot in the AFC Under-22 Asian Cup Qualifiers with a 4-2 win over Taiwan.
In-form striker Rozaimi Abd Rahman stole the show yet again as he scored a brace in the 7th and 40th minute while hapless Taiwanese player, Chen Yen Jui netted an own goal in the first half. D. Saarvindran scored his second goal of the competition to complete the rout.
Taiwan on the other hand scored in the second half through Lin Chang Lun and captain Wen Chih-Hao.
Coach Ong Kim Swee made several changes to the lineup as two goal hero in the match against South Korea; Thamil Arasu was rested in favour of winger Shahrul Azwari while the defence was marshaled by Fadhli Shas and Shahrul Saad.
Kim Swee went on to state that their first half display was exemplary but complacency got the better of the team in the second half as they conceded two goals, according to the Star. He further stated that the team’s focus will now be on the next match against Vietnam this Saturday.
With this second win in the bag, we can surely hope that our Young Tigers will carry their fine form into the match against a much tougher opponent, Vietnam come this Saturday.
