Bojan Hodak was in jubilant mood after Kelantan overcame a resilient Sime Darby to lift the FA Cup for the first time
“This was a very difficult game, it was an ugly final to be honest. It was never going to be easy to beat a team who set out to park the bus.
“But this was a monumental win for us, it was not nice to watch but an effective one which won us the title”.
Bojan Hodak also lauded the character of his players ever since he took charge of the team.
“I’ve been in charge of Kelantan for only two months, and my players have given everything they can in each match. We have only lost once in 20 matches, I can’t ask for anything more than that”.
Bojan was especially pleased with match-winner Muhammad Ghaddar’s performance.
“Ghaddar became a team player when it mattered. He wasn’t selfish, he held up the play well, he also created chances for his team-mates and most importantly he got us the winning goal”.
The Croatian also said that he would asses the fitness of his players ahead of the crunch derby against Terengganu in the AFC Cup on Tuesday.
“We have a vital match against Terengganu early next week, so I will only pick the most physically and mentally fit players to feature in the match. But tonight, I will let my boys celebrate the victory they truly deserved”.
