Godin: Ronaldo can be decisive in the derby

The Atletico Madrid defender says his side are not afraid of travelling to the Bernabeu but is wary of the Portuguese star's ability to win games with his individual talent
3/4 Real are 3/4 with Bet365 to beat Atletico this weekend.
Diego Godin believes Cristiano Ronaldo is the only player that separates Atletico and Real Madrid.

After winning their opening six La Liga games of the season, Diego Simeone's charges currently find themselves one place and two points above their city rivals in the table heading into Saturday's derby at the Santiago Bernabeu.

But Godin believes his side are still inferior to their Madrid neighbours in terms of quality, simply because of the influence of the in-form 28-year-old.

"In Isco, Real have a player who can do something different and we have Diego Costa, David Villa, Koke and Arda [Turan] who contribute a lot and provide resource to win games," the Uruguay international told Marca.

"Yet the most decisive player is Ronaldo, as he can win any game with his goals. Real are the favourites but we know how to win at the Bernabeu. Physically and technically we are in great condition.

"We arrive in the best way to tackle a derby. We have great confidence, we are playing well and scoring goals."
