Depending on the results of the final round of La Liga fixtures, La Real could earn Champions League football or they could miss out. Montanier's fifth-placed side will need Sevilla to beat Valencia while Real need three points against Deportivo who are battling relegation.
Regardless of the outcome the 48-year-old says he will be satisfied with the campaign.
“The season has been a success, and I say this now, before Saturday night's events, for better or worse, and even though we are very ambitious and are dreaming of fourth," he told reporters.
"We have had a great season and during this last week we have enjoyed everything that we have managed together.
“I have no doubt that for Valencia it will be very difficult to win in Seville, but we should be focused solely on what we have to do.
"I do not doubt the motivation for Sevilla. They are professional and will give it their all, also because they play for a final European qualification place.
“Ours will be a very difficult match, because Deportivo are playing for survival, but we have to win. It will not be easy to play against a side playing for survival, it is a particular kind of game, we have great respect for Depor.
“They will have a negative pressure whilst we will have a positive one, and we must take advantage of that.”
