The Brazil international featured from the start on Saturday but picked up a knock early in the game and was forced to leave the pitch after only 14 minutes of play.
Early tests have confirmed that the right-back has pulled the hamstring in his right leg, but it is not yet clear how long he will be out of action for.
Alves will undergo a further examination in Barcelona on Monday to clarify the exact extent of his physical problems.
The 29-year-old defender has made 16 appearances in all competitions so far this term for the Blaugrana, netting once in the process.
