The new La Liga champions have decided to leave some of their star players out of the visit to face Abel Resino's men to give fringe players a chance to shine
Jose Mourinho has opted to leave Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Sami Khedira out of his Real Madrid matchday squad to face Granada on Saturday evening.
Los Blancos were crowned La Liga champions on Wednesday following a 3-0 away win against Athletic Bilbao, leaving the Spanish giants seven points clear of Barcelona with only two games left.
With the title in the bag, it seems Mourinho is looking to give some of his fringe players a run out with Ricardo Carvalho and Nuri Sahin both included in the 19-man squad.
As well as the first-team trio, Lassana Diarra and Hamit Altintop have also failed to make the Portuguese's selection against Abel Resino's men.
Two players ineligible for the fixture are Mesut Ozil and Fabio Coentrao who both miss out through suspension while youth players Nacho, Fernando Pacheco and Andy Rodriguez have all been called up.
Since March, Goal.com has been publishing exclusive extracts from Luca Caioli's new book, Ronaldo: The Obsession for Perfection. This Friday's excerpt looks at the mutual appreciation between Cristiano and Jose Mourinho after the two Portuguese led Real Madrid to La Liga glory earlier this week. Don't miss it!
