The influential midfielder is optimistic about his side's chances of winning more trophies and believes the Blaugrana are in a good position to eliminate les ParisiensXavi has insisted that the current crop of Barcelona players are still hungry for success and is confident that they will win more silverware in the years to come.
The Blaugrana have been one of the dominant forces in European football in recent years but some argued that their cycle was nearing its end after a string of disappointing performances in February.
Nevertheless, they have since returned to their usual best and Xavi has little doubt that they will continue to win titles.
"I think we’ve had four or five excellent years in which Barcelona have been very, very good. But I think there are still some great games left in this generation and we’ll enjoy even further success," Xavi told the official Uefa website.
"We’re doing well in the league and in a good position in the Champions League. We’re are really hoping that things can work out, and even more for Tito Vilanova, because he deserves everything we’ve fought for."
The influential midfielder then went on to discuss the Champions League quarter-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain and admitted that Barca are the favourites to progress after the 2-2 draw in the first leg.
"The 2-2 was a good result, we’re the favourites, we’re at home and there are 90 minutes left to play. But looking back at the last game, the way they scored with the last move of the game leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
"We’re optimistic, though, because we know we’re playing at home, but PSG have a great team, they’re quick up front and play well on the counterattack. They’re no small fries - they’re a big team."
Wednesday's encounter at Camp Nou is scheduled to kick off at 20:45CET.
