The 42-year-old admits that the club are in the market for new additions but is also keen not to block the path of several squad players who could step up into the first teamAjax coach Frank de Boer says that he is interested in bringing players to the Amsterdam Arena in January but is also content with the quality of depth at his disposal.
The Eredivisie champions are currently fourth in the league table and have been knocked out of the Champions League following a 4-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in their last European outing and that predicament has left the Dutch boss flirting with the idea of making additions to his squad.
"Good players are always welcome," he said during a press conference.
"But you have to be careful, you might think that you need a certain player without realising you have cover.
"Suppose we move for a striker in the winter and then Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Ryan Babel both return to fitness, then we have Danny Hoesen, Siem de Jong and Christian Eriksen."
The 42-year-old was also quick to stress the quality of the club's youth setup and remains keen on continuing their tradition of blooding young talent.
"We also have to remember the youth players who jump at the chance to make the step up," De Boer remarked. "That is the power of Ajax."
