Another week went by in the Malaysia Cup with eight matches played in the same night. This weeks recap starts off in Group A which saw Pahang beaten by Felda FC 2-3 at Stadium Darul Makmur. The Elephants took the lead twice in the game, with the opener coming from Gopinathan in the 17th minute, however the Settlers equalised via Edward six minutes later to make the score 1-1 at half time. In the second half the home side again led this time from Matias Conti in the 49th minute, but again Edward scored the equaliser in the 64th minute. Shukor Adan then put the visitors in front with a goal scored in the 77th minute to give his team a hard fought away win. JDT II finally registered their first win, against a struggling LionsXII at Johor Bahru. The goals came from Syafiq and an own goal, while Hafiz Sujad scored for The Lions.
In Group B, Sarawak lost at home against Kedah by a 1-2 scoreline after Mehmet struck the winning goal very late on. The visitors put in a composed performance in the first half and got their first goal from Farhan in the 32nd minute. In the second half, The Crocs turned the tide and got the equaliser from Ryan Griffith with a wonderful bicycle kick in the 55th minute. But they still could not stop Kedah from scoring the final goal from a free kick taken by Mehmet to give the visitors all three points. The other match in Group B saw Terengganu get their second win, against Perak, in Kuala Terengganu. The goals from The Turtles came from Manaf Mamat (30’) and Norfarhan (50’), while Nasir scored the consolation goal for The Bos Gaurus in the 32nd minute.
Meanwhile in Group C, JDT continued their strong start with a win against Pulau Pinang in Penang. The game was fun to watch with Amri Yahyah scoring first with an impressive header in the 13th minute. Safiq Rahim then added the second goal just a minute later. Lee-Gil Hoon scored a goal for Penang in the 65th minute, but two minutes later Diaz added to Penang's misery to make the scoreline 1-3. Kelantan are back to their winning ways as they triumphed 3-0 against ATM at Selayang Stadium. All the goals came in the second half, from Forkey Doe (51’) and Badhri Radzi (60’) and (88’).
PDRM crushed T-Team FC 4-1 at Stadium Paroi, while Selangor bounced back from last weeks shock defeat to PDRM with a 2-1 win over Sime Darby FC. The Red Giants can thank Rangel and Hazwan who scored goals in the first half to give the team three points.
