In a keenly fought MSL contest in Shah Alam, Johor Darul Ta'zim took a giant step towards fulfiling their aspirations of winning the league title. Luciano Figueroa's solitary goal was enough to separate Selangor and Johor.

This was a game in which both defences were on top of their game and they have to be, considering the firepower that both teams possess. While Amri Yahyah struggled on his return to his former hunting ground, another player was relishing the tie.

Pererrya Diaz was played up front alongside Figueroa and despite the tight attention given by Selangor's defence, the Argentine still managed to caused them plenty of trouble. It was his ball control which allowed him the time and space to lay the perfect assist for his countryman.

Much speedier than he is given credit for, Diaz's ability to run with the ball cannot be underestimated. Not even the presence of Steve Pantelidis was enough to shake him off the ball. The cleverness of his game in constantly finding open spaces and already building up good understanding with his team mates are evident for all to see.

If JDT are to storm to the title, there's little doubt that Diaz will play a pivotal in that run.
