Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle
Only two more Premier League round of matches are left for this 2013/14 season. Arsenal's season has been on a roller coaster, from dropping out of Top 4 to title contenders to dropping out of Top 4. After this latest win over Newcastle, it looks like The Gunners and Arsene Wenger will continue that remarkable run of consecutive Champions League qualification.
Having missed five weeks of the season immediately after that 2nd leg at Allianz Arena and looking miserably out of form, Mesut Özil isn't expected to be the main man for Arsenal. Yet, he had no problem assuming that mantle against a very poor Alan Pardew side.
A goal that marks his desire to get into positions when the opportunity presents itself provided Arsenal the two goal gap heading into half time. The assist in the 2nd half for Olivier Giroud showed his class and vision, almost like all Giroud had to do was be there.
Özil hasn't always been the flavour of the month for general football observers or even some section of the Arsenal fanbase but his quality undoubtedly high, the onus is on the German to maintain this level of performance to shush the doubters. On this day, he helped Arsenal fans celebrate yet another St Totteringham's Day.
