WHAT THE PAPERS ARE SAYING

PKNS FC

Wantaway star midfielder, Nazmi Faiz will apparently be benched in their Tuesday match against Terengganu, reported New Straits Times. PKNS FC headcoach Wan Jamak had been unhappy with Nazmi's performance in their Friday 1-0 loss to JDT I, and insisted that he will only pick on-form players to be on the pitch.

However, it is unknown whether Nazmi's act is a ploy to get his team to agree to a transfer to the more-established Selangor, before the mid-season transfer window closes. Both Nazmi and Selangor have reportedly expressed mutual interest in each other, although PKNS FC' demand for two of Selangor players in exchange for the 19 year old is something that Red Giants' head coach Mehmet Durakovic is unwilling to meet, considering that his squad depth is fast depleting due to injuries.

PERAK

Berita Harian reported that the Perak FA will delay their appointment of a new head coach until Thursday. It had earlier been reported over the weekend that former New Radiant manager, Velizar Popov was a shoe in for the job and he was in town to watch their match against Selangor. But Berita Harian now claims that three other candidates are also being considered as replacement for former head coach, Abu Bakar Fadzim. This delay means that Abu Bakar will retain his head coach duty for the Bos Gaurus' home match against JDT on Tuesday night.

SELANGOR

Another report by New Straits Times carried the story that Selangor are currently reluctant to part ways with their Australian centreback Steve Pantelidis, after planning to do so following the signing of two new Brazilian players last week. Their change of heart came at the back of his splendid performance against Perak last weekend, when he shored the defence after one of the two new imports, centreback Evaldo Silva Dos Santos was sent off in his debut for Selangor. Pantelidis' performance ensured that Selangor kept their lead and collected all three points.

On top of this, Selangor's new duo are not yet eligible to be fielded in the AFC Cup, as teams competing in the competition can only bring in new players between the second round and the quarter final stage.
