The Elephants maintain their dominance; Turtles suffer first home defeat of the season

Terengganu started off the 2nd round of the MSL with a loss to Sarawak in a match that was played on Friday. The visitors started well with S. Chanturu scored early in the 3rd minute after he headed the ball from Ryan Griffiths’s cross. Just before the break, The Turtles managed to find an equalizer with the help of an own goal from J. Eldstal in the 36th minute. In the 75th minute, Ryan Griffiths scored the winning goal for the visitors after he tapped in the ball from Ashri Chuchu's cross. The game ended with The Crocs winnning by 2-1 and it was the first defeat for Terengganu on home soil.
In another match that played early on Friday saw JDT and PKNS FC battled in Johor Bahru Stadium. The match was won by the home side thanks to an own goal from Mohd Aminuddin in the 3rd minute. The score line remained 1-0 until the end.
Reigning champion, LionsXII suffered another setback after they lost at home to Sime Darby FC. Syukur Saidin became the hero for the visitors when he scored the only goal in the match in the dying minute of the first half. The home side put a brace performance in the second half but unable to score any goals. With the defeat, The Lions now sit in the 6th place with five wins.
Kelantan travelled to Selayang Stadium to face ATM in a game where The Warriors need to win to remain as contenders for the title. Although the home side fought well, Kelantan skipper, Piya got the goal in the 44th minute and then in the 84th minute, all hope was lost as Forkey Doe scored for the visitors to end the game with another victory for TRW.
In another match in Darul Makmur saw Pahang up against T-Team. It was a dream start for the home fans as their inspirational striker, Matias Conti scored an early goal in the 2nd minute. Then, Azamuddin Akil scored the second goal for The Elephants to secure another pivotal win. Pahang remain on top of the table with eight wins and they will face the defending champion, LionsXII in the next game.
Selangor had a rather easy task this week as they face off a struggling side, Perak in Shah Alam Stadium. Sensational striker, Paolo Rangel scored again for The Red Giants in the 8th minute, which was also the only goal scored of the night. The win helped Selangor who are currently in 2nd place, to catch up with the current leaders, Pahang.
