Arsenal 1-1 Man City
Though, the home side did have to weather the early storm of waves after waves of City attacks before conceding due to a slack moment in defence. To their credit, the goal didn't deflate them and Arsenal kept at it to eventually came back into the game.
The revival in the second half was lead by Santi Cazorla. Arsenal's player of the season last year, the little Spaniard hasn't quite hit the same heights this season. Whether it is because of the shadow cast by Mesut Özil or being played out of position. But Cazorla was in his element against City.
As usual he didn't hug the touchline even though he started on the right of the attacking triumvirate. It left Gael Clichy with no one to mark and helped Oliver Giroud against the 2 City centre backs. Most importantly, Cazorla kept possession for Arsenal, sometimes against 2 or more markers.
If Özil prefers the runners in Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey to flourish, Cazorla is just the busy playmaker sort that relishes a holding player up front like Giroud. The Spain international's ability to play quick intricate one-twos benefits from the Giroud type of striker.
Until the others come back from their respective injuries, Cazorla is expected to shoulder much if not most of the creative responsibilities in this Arsenal side and on the evidence of this, those little shoulders is willing to accept the challenge.
