In a match billed as the battle between David vs Goliath, the underdogs failed to spring any surprises as moneybags Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) cruise to a solid victory at Selayang Stadium.

After a sustained spell on the sidelines, Norshahrul Idlan returns to the first team lineup with a dazzling attacking display combining well with strike partner Lucho Figueroa. The nippy forward reveled in his role behind the main striker as he utilised his neat close control to create space not only for himself but more importantly for his teammates.

Norshahrul Idlan showed incredible predatory instinct to pounce onto the rebound of a spectacular attempt from Safiq Rahim, and fired home to double JDT’s lead and ultimately sealed Sime Darby’s fate.

The 27-year-old striker was a constant threat to a visibly overwhelmed defence led by former international Juzaili Samion with his whimsical flair and an eye for killer passes.

With Mat Yo returning to top form, Jimenez will surely face a welcomed selection headache upfront with a plethora of stars to choose from; Lucho Figueroa, Amri Yahyah, Safee Sali and rising star Hadin Azman.
