thumbnail Hello,

The Gunners provide the right response from that humiliating defeat just over a week ago to the same opponent as they sent the Reds crashing out of the FA Cup.

There were after effects of the previous game last Saturday when Liverpool handed Arsenal a footballing lesson in the opening period of the match. The same was almost replicated as Daniel Sturridge was put through twice in the early minutes of the match. Lukasz Fabianski blocked the first of those shots and that would become a pattern throughout the match.

The Polish stopper has rarely been used this season, such is the form of Wojciech Szczesny. Labelled as Flappianski by many due to the errors that he produced early on in his Arsenal career, Fabianski looks to have shed those mistakes since he was reinstated for a brief period last season.

He was at hand plenty of times yesterday, to deny Liverpool time and again. The reactionary saves from a couple of Luis Suarez efforts were good but the one against Sturridge in the second half was the pick of the bunch. Sturridge was through on goal and looks to round Fabianski but the latter somehow managed to push the ball away from the path to goal.

Fabianski has already stated his intention to leave the club at the end of this season when his contract runs out. On the evidence of this performance, there won’t be shortage of suitors.
