Fulham's defensive performance against Manchester United was top notch and Dan Burn was an integral part of it
|MAN OF THE MATCH
Man United 2-2 Fulham
For a youngster of Dan Burn's age, playing against Manchester United at Old Trafford is already a dream come true. But to go there and showcase a magnificent performance is something else and that was exactly what Dan did in their 2-2 draw vs the Red Devils.
Fulham knew they desperately needed something out of this game from the beginning. And when the early lead came courtesy of Steve Sidwell, the Cottagers sat deep and looked to block United out of the game.
The Red Devils visibly took control of the tempo and launched attacks after attacks. But Dan Burn was always there to win all the aerial battles, clear any dangerous balls that are crossed into the box.
Moyes' men kept using the flanks as an attacking outlet, and Dan was excellent in keeping Robin van Persie at bay as well. He was sensational in his general awareness, which helped Fulham to keep it tight at the back.
Even when Moyes brought on the extra attackers, Dan stood strong and displayed incredible maturity in dealing with the United forwards. No doubts, they did score two late goals, but the 22 year-old defender was outstanding otherwise.
If he continues to put in performances like this, a certain man by the name of Roy Hodgson will be calling him soon to offer a free plane ticket to Rio de Janeiro.
