|WHAT THE PAPERS ARE SAYING|
Former national striker, Akmal Rizal who had earlier been released by Malaysian Premier League (MPL) side Kedah, revealed through his Twitter account two days ago that he is close to signing with a new team. When pressed by fans on which team that is, he replied that he could only reveal it when he has actually signed the contract. The 32-year-old, however, hinted that the team is one of the four teams who have made it to the semifinal stage of the 2013 Malaysia Cup; ATM, Sarawak, Kelantan, and Pahang. He also added that the team had been interested in signing him for a very long time, but it is only now that the time is right for both of them to enter into a deal.
Goalkeeper Zamir Selamat, who last played for Johor Darul Takzim before being released midway through the 2013 season, is reportedly signing with PKNS FC for the upcoming season. However, no official confirmation has been made from either party.
After a few key players and their head coach Bojan Hodak are set to leave the 2013 Malaysia Cup finalists, the Red Warriors have reportedly started to work on finding their replacements. After securing the services of former Perak head coach Steve Darby, Kelantan are now rumoured to have signed Negeri Sembilan striker Shakir Ali.
Following their 6-1 defeat to Sarawak in the 2013 Malaysia Cup which culminated in the whole team being investigated by the SPRM and the subsequent departure of their head coach Azraai Khor, it was revealed by Pahang FA (PAFA) President Zainol Fadzi to Kosmo! that the Yeobs will not be retaining the services of twelve members of the squad for the upcoming season. These players are goalkeeper Farizal Marlias, Shahrulnizam Mustapa, Abdul Hadi Yahya, Shahrom Abd Kalam, Failee Ghazli, V. Thirumurugan, S. Chanturu, M. Sivakumar, Rafiuddin Roddin, Azlan Ismail, and Brazilian imports Paulo Rangel and Rafael Souza.
Farizal, Rangel, and Abdul Hadi are currently rumoured to be targeted by their neighbours Selangor.
