thumbnail Hello,

LionsXII claimed their maiden win of the Malaysia Cup after beating Perak 2-1, while struggling Negeri Sembilan proved their credentials in Kota Bharu

It was another enthralling day of Malaysia Cup action, as several unexpected results popped up once again with surprising wins for LionsXII and the Deers.

ATM boosted their chances of making it to the quarter finals after securing a 4-1 victory over Johor yesterday. Sathianathan's men took the lead on the 40th minute mark through Bruno Martelotto, before Marlon James increased it on the 77th minute. Venice Elphi then added to the scoreline before Johor pulled one back through Aliff Yusof on the 88th minute. However, Martelotto had the ultimate say by netting ATM's fourth goal in injury time.

As for Selangor, their chances of making it to the quarters is almost over now after only managing to draw 1-1 against Sime Darby last night. Forkey Doe put the Red Giants upfront just moments before half time but Karlo Primorac netted in the 78th minute to make sure that both sides went home with one point apiece.

Johor Darul Takzim succumbed to a frustrating 2-1 defeat against T-Team in Larkin. Norshahrul Idlan opened the scoring for the home side and while Darul Takzim predominantly controlled most of the match, Abdul Latiff and George Boateng netted two goals in the second half to give T-Team an immense victory.

Besides that, Felda United also secured a key 1-0 win over PKNS in Temerloh, courtesy of goal from Emmanuel Mozawa just before half time.

Terengganu revived their chances of making it to the quarter finals, after securing a key 2-1 win over Pahang yesterday. Jean Emmanuel Effa Owona opened the scoring for the Turtles, before Pahang equalized through the flamboyant Azamuddin Akil. However, the home side pushed hard in search of that vital winning goal and they ultimately got it through Khairul Ramadhan late in the game

In the other Group C match, Negeri Sembilan shocked Kelantan by defeating them in Kota Bharu. The Red Warriors were seen as massive favourites prior to the match, but the manner in which Negeri performed was impressive. Sivanesan initially opened the scoring for the away side, before Indra Putra equalized for Kelantan. Fakri Saarani then went on to give Kelantan the lead early in the second half, although two goals from Fabio Leandro was enough to give Negeri the win.

Hariss Harun opened the scoring for Lions, before Noor Hazrul curled home a trademark free kick to restore parity. Paulo Rangel then appeared to have given Perak the lead, although the referee insisted that the ball did not pass the line, and thus ruled out the header. And as a bitter Perak side were trying to get their foot back in the gas, Lions netted through Safuwan Baharuddin and ultimately claimed their first victory in this year's Malaysia Cup.

In the same group, Sarawak continued to show why they could be massive darkhorses this year, by securing an emphatic 4-0 win over Kedah in Kuching. Zamri Morshidi initially gave them the lead in the 54th minute, but despite Kedah's best efforts, goals from Muamer Salibasic and two from Bobby Gonzales essentially gave the Crocs an immense victory in front of their home crowd.
