Goal Malaysia drafts out a squad that is made up of the best players throughout the entire Super League season

The 2013 Malaysia Super League was by far the most explosive one in recent times. People talk about the need to have action and top notch football in a league, and the Super League certainly did provide us with all of it. The rise of Johor Darul Takzim, the struggles of Kelantan FA, LionsXII impressing with their slick football and also Negeri Sembilan's fall from grace.

So as we rejoice in the conclusion of a terrific season of Malaysian football, Goal Malaysia drafts out a squad that is made up of the best players throughout the entire Super League season. We have decided to go with a 3-4-3 formation, considering the wealth of attacking options that was showcased this season.

We'll start from the back and in goal, no one was as impressive as LionsXII's Izwan Mahbud. The talented goalkeeper was a pivotal part of their defence that only conceded 15 goals throughout the season. Izwan also pulled off several impeccable saves on quite a number of occassions and was arguably the standout custodian in the Super League.

In defence, Safuwan Baharuddin was the first name in our team sheet. So much has been said about Baihakki Khaizan, but this year, Safuwan really stepped up his game and took it to a whole new level. Next on the list is Mahali Jasuli, Selangor's very own 'Cafu'. Known for his attacking exploits down the flank, Mahali did not disappoint this season with his timely runs down the wings. Having said that, the ex-Harimau Muda A man also did his job defensively for the Red Giants. The final name that completes out defence is Kelantan wonderkid Nik Shahrul Azim, who stepped in for the injured Subra and did his job brilliantly.

Moving on to the midfield, Badhri Radzi was perhaps the best midfielder in the Super League this year. While the Red Warriors visibly lacked width, creativity was something aplenty with Badhri in the middle of the park. Beside him, we have opted for the experienced Amri Yahya, who yet again proved that age is no barrier in football. The 32 year-old was impressively consistent in a season where Selangor emerged to be the best Malaysian team in the league. On the flanks, we have gone with Shahril Ishak, who yet again proved why he is one of the best players in South East Asia, while the industrious Azwan Roya takes up the other spot on the wings after his immense debut season for JDT.

Fauzi Roslan was a deadly force for Pahang with his pace and trickery throughout the season and deserves a spot upfront. Besides him, we have also gone for Patrick Wleh; the Liberian forward who a dangerous outlet for PKNS on the offensive. But the star forward of this season is undoubtedly none other than Marlon Alex James, who despite being 36 years old, netted an impressive 16 goals in the Super League. Simply magnificent.

As for the substitutes, we've gone with Norazlan Razali, Kamarul Afiq, Baihakki Khaizan, R. Gopinathan, Isa Halim, Francis Forkey Doe and Paulo Rangel.
