Former Sydney FC defender to be tested by the Red Giants this Sunday
|WHAT THE PAPERS ARE SAYING
SelangorIt was reported yesterday that Selangor are looking to replace Peter Charappan in their domestic squad, and a replacement has been found. That replacement has been confirmed to be 33-year-old Adam Griffiths who last played for Sydney FC as a central defender, before being released at the end of the 2012/2013 A-League season. He was spotted at Paroi during Selangor's away match to Negeri Sembilan last night with his agent; former Australian international Scott Ollerenshaw.
However, Selangor assistant coach P. Maniam, when met after the match, said that Griffiths is yet to sign any deals with Selangor. Griffiths had only arrived in Malaysia early Friday, and he has not trained with the team. Maniam also added that the veteran player will be tested this Sunday, and will only be signed if his performance is found to be satisfactory, and if he passess a medical.
This essentially means that whatever decision on Griffiths, must be taken quickly by FAS, as the last day of the April transfer window is on the 22nd.
