The search was on for a new star signing for Johor Darul Tazkim after former Spanish international Dani Guiza and ex-Seria A player Simone Del Nero ended their contracts prematurely through mutual consent.

Signs in the past week pointed to the possible arrival of former Liverpool and Galatasaray striker Milan Baros to the Southern Tigers but such a move is now only possible in the realms of the fantasy world. Singapore can confirm that negotiations have ended between representative of both the player and the club, as the ex-Czech Republic international is keen to stay in his native homeland and is not seeking a move away from his boyhood club, Banik Ostrava in the near future.

Baros was rumoured to have been offered approximately USD800, 000 – USD1 million for a 12 months stint with the Malaysia Super League club.

Baros who had more than 90 appearances for the national team had recently signed for Banik in the Czech top tier league on February 18 after he left Galatasaray through mutual consent.

With Baros out of the radar,Darul Takzim coach Fandi Ahmad has to rely on his sole foreign player, Andre Francisco (Andrezinho) for the first few matches in the second round of the super league until they found their second foreign player.

Andrezinho started the season with second tier club Johor FA but has since made his way up to the Super League side along with three players, Nazri Ahmad, Jaszarin Jamaluddin and Farid Ramli.

With the departure and arrival of new players to the squad, there have been changes to several players’ jersey numbers as well with Malaysian international Safee Sali now donning the number 14 jersey while Andrezinho is given the number 10 jersey.

Nazri, Jaszarin and Fari were allocated the number 19, 21 and 25 jersey respectively.
