HEAD-TO-HEAD: ATM look to end losing streak against Kelantan

The Red Warriors will look to continue their excellent run against the Gladiators this Friday
ATM face Kelantan for the first time in the league this season but both sides have met in this year's Charity Shield and also in the 2012 Malaysia Cup Final.

Interestingly this will also be the first time they meet in a Malaysian Super League match. The last time both ATM and Kelantan played together in the Malaysia League was back in the 2007/2008 Premier League, where Kelantan beat ATM 4-1 at Kota Bharu, 3-2 in the return fixture.

The Gladiators, who are currently leading the pack in the league, are arguably in their strongest position to defeat Kelantan after a string of good performances this year. But their recent record in this fixture is against them.

In the past 11 meetings, ATM have never won against Kelantan (in regulation time) and have only recorded four draws - the last one was their 1-1 draw in January's Charity Shield (ATM went on to win 4-3 on penalties).

However, out of the seven games that Kelantan have won against ATM, four of them were won by one goal deficits, including the last two victories where Kelantan won by a scoreline of 4-3 and also 3-2 (after extra time) in the 2012 Malaysia Cup Final.

The last eight matches between ATM and Kelantan:

5 January 2013: ATM 1-1 Kelantan, 4-3 on Penalties (Charity Shield 2013)
20 October 2012: ATM 2-3 Kelantan, AET (Malaysia Cup 2012)
01 September 2012: Kelantan 4-3 ATM (Malaysia Cup 2012)
28 August 2012: ATM 1-1 Kelantan (Malaysia Cup 2012)
13 October 2009: Kelantan 5-0 ATM (Malaysia Cup 2009)
3 October 2009: ATM 1-2 Kelantan (Malaysia Cup 2009)
30 March 2008: ATM 2-3 Kelantan (Premier Leage 07/08)
18 January 2008: Kelantan 4-1 ATM (Premier League 07/08)
