Former player and football pundit Steve McMahon predicts the outcomes of this week’s English Premier League matches

Manchester City vs Manchester United

It’s a big game and I’m sure Sir Alex Ferguson will be negative here to try for a draw or a narrow and not concede goals at the Etihad Stadium.

Also, City have gone 37 games unbeaten at home and are yet to beaten this season. They have been keeping a tight defence so far and it’s not likely a negative United side will break them.

Prediction: 1-0 (Half-time 0-0)

West Ham United vs Liverpool

Both sides come into the match with their main strikers missing - Andy Carroll will miss out via injury while Luis Suarez is suspended for this one.

Without firepower from both sides, they will cancel each other out for a draw.

Prediction: 1-1 (Half-time 0-0)
