Geylang United to continue revival against Tanjong Pagar and Home United expected to beat Tampines Rovers
The Eagles caused the biggest upset of the season so far, beating league leaders Balestier Khalsa 3-1 last Friday. Although the result was somewhat fortuitous, it would have done tremendous good to the morale of the players.
The Jaguars have had a terrible start to the season and have found the going tough - missing players due to injuries and picking up just one point from 6 games.
The Eagles would be keen to pick up where they left of and coach Kanan Vedamuthu would make sure that his team retains focus and watches for complacency. Geylang will be relying on forwards Michael King and Mun Seung Man to continue their form and lead the team to victory.
Did you know: Tanjong Pagar have never beaten Geylang United in the League since it's inception!
Leaders Home United were impressive in their 4-2 victory over Albirex and coach Lim Lee Saeng was particularly please by the overall display of the team, showing good understanding and working as a collective unit.
After a slow start to the season, the Protectors have found their footing and have climbed to the top of the table. Their forward trio of Shi Jiayi, Federic Mendy and Qui Li have been in fine form and have devised a system of play that suits the team. Coach Lim will be hoping that his team carries on their fine form and will make sure they keep up their performance level.
Tampines Rovers were held to a draw by Hougang United last time out and the Stags were lucky to salvage a draw with an injury-time equaliser. Last season's winners, the Stags, have had a stop-start season finding it difficult to score goals. The Stags would have to be at their best to keep out the red-hot Protectors who have netted an impressive 17 goals in just 6 games.
Gombak United were held to a frustrating draw against the Rams and would be keen to improve. Despite having the lions share of the ball and goalscoring opportunities the Bulls were denied a victory.
DPMM put in a great defensive display to keep the youngsters of Harimau Muda at bay. The Bruneians were visibily tired at the end of the game after being run ragged. Coach Simunic will be looking to get back to winning ways after the draw. DPMM will be again relying on forwards Rodrigo Grahl and Basiru Osman to deal the damage.
Gombak have made a promising start to the season but their failure to make chances count, has cost them valuable points.
The Rams were pleased to get a point in their last game after 3 successive losses but will face a Hougang team itching to prove their doubters wrong.
After a promising start to the season, Hougang have failed to win in 3 games and a languishing in mid-table. They would be pleased to face the Rams who have found it hard to score and would be looking to post a victory. Forward Jordan Webb is expected to lead the Hougang attack.
The Rams like Hougang, began the season with 2 victories but have struggled since. Expect a tight affair!

After a slow start, the Warriors have won 2 games in a row with their attacking trio of Fazrul Nawaz, Mislav Karoglan and Tatsuro Inui in inspired form. Facing Harimau Muda though, would be a different proposition altogether.
Harimau Muda have set the team alight with their passing game and good brand of attacking football. They were unlucky to draw against DPMM, despite running the opposition ragged. Harimau stretched their unbeaten run beating the Young Lions on Sunday with Syahrul Azwari and Wan Zack Haikal outstanding.
Both teams would look to attack from the off and fans can expect a cracking match!
|Courts Young Lions||0-1||Balestier Khalsa
Balestier Khalsa were shocked by Geylang United 3-1 and will be itching to bounce back right away against a Young Lions team that has lost all their games despite playing some decent football.
Bottom side Lions would be keen to put some points on the board but would face a physical Balestier side. In their defeat to Harimau Muda, the Lions sorely ace winger Sherif El-Masri, who was recalled by Canada’s football association for the country’s London Olympics qualification campaign and will be hoping that he returns in time.
The Tigers led by inspirational captain Paul Cunningham would be keen to restore pride after their defeat and coach Darren Stewart will be looking for a quick response from the team and will be happy to face the Lions.
